Marie Theresa Schuyler, 88, a resident of Halethorpe, MD, passed away on December 16, 2025 at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia.

Marie (Lucas) Schuyler was born on April 15,1937 in Baltimore, MD, the seventh child of James Edward and Anna Marie (Martin) Lucas. She enjoyed life to the very fullest until her death.

She attended Holy Cross Catholic School, Solley Elementary, George Fox Jr. High and Glen Burnie High School. She then married James Schuyler on October 13, 1956. They were married for almost 56 years.

Her first job was with Monumental Life Insurance Company. Later she worked for the Baltimore County School System and was a former secretary at Lansdowne Senior High School, before she retired. After retirement, Marie spent her time traveling and visited 36 countries and 48 states in the U.S.

Marie could strike up a conversation with anyone and within minutes would come away with their life story. Marie loved to camp with the scouts and work on crafts. She was always active with the kids and community.

She loved to go to the slots, play game boards, and card games. She loved mysteries and musicals. Marie did scrap booking, collected turtle items, and paper dolls. Most of all, she loved doing genealogy and traveling.

In heaven, she will join her husband James Allen Schuyler, Jr.; her parents James and Anna Martin; brothers Thomas, James, and Robert Lucas; sisters Rita Martin, Mary Geisler, Ruth Hicks, Helen Lucas; and grandson D’Angelo Taylor Schuyler.

She is survived by her children, James Schuyler (Karen Schuyler), Wayne Schuyler (June Schuyler) , and Diana Conti (James Conti); grandchildren, James Allen Schuyler, IV, Christina Marie Schuyler (Matthew Paul Smith) Jonathan Thomas Schuyler (DeCarri Armani Schuyler), Joshua Matthew Schuyler, Kia Abigail Schuyler, Faith Angelina Schuyler, and Robert James Schuyler; Rebecca Liller (Brian Liller), Elizabeth Williams (Glenn Williams); Jason Conti (Kelly Conti) and Angela Clair (Rob Clair); and 5 great grandchildren, Matthew Liller, Allison Liller, Michael Liller, Zinnia Artemis D’Angelo Schuyler and Sofia Williams.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that she truly cherished and loved.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Clement’s Church, 2700 Washington Avenue, Halethorpe, MD 21227. Interment will be private at a later date in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
