IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marianne
Bossier
March 23, 1932 – November 9, 2021
Mrs. Marianne Elisabeth Bossier died peacefully in her home in Severna Park, Maryland, on November 9, 2021, surrounded by her entire family, who had been gathered around her for days telling dozens of stories and sharing endless family memories. The room was filled with love and peace as Marianne "Nana" went home to be with the Lord. Marianne is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Malcolm O. Bossier, Jr.; children, Cynthia Camille Bossier Van Vliet, Michael Anton Bossier, and Cynthia's husband Christopher Michael Van Vliet; and grandchildren, Casey Elisabeth Van Vliet, Matthew Christopher Van Vliet and Jayla Carinn Bossier.
Marianne was born in Frankfurt, Germany to Emil and Erna Auth. Sadly, Emil was MIA in WWII. Marianne bravely boarded a ship to America solo at the age of 21. Her mother, Erna, followed Marianne to America 6 years later and met Marianne's stepdad of 35 years, Arvie Hatchett.
Marianne spent 35 years as a Realtor for Long & Foster mostly as a Gold Team Member. She was very active in the Women's Council of Realtors, including leadership roles. Her children and grandchildren remember her as the most generous, kind, giving, strong, driven and most importantly loving mom and Nana that ever was. Marianne made the most delicious lasagna known to mankind, and somehow always seemed to have a piece of chocolate raspberry cake at the ready to anyone who visited.
Marianne was also quite the artist who had an eye for balance when decorating their home. Many of her oil paintings hang in the family home today. Marianne also had a heart for those who were hurting. Her children remember visiting refugee camps when they were younger giving up many toys to children in the camps. Whoever had need, Marianne was giving.
There will be visitation for immediate family members only on November 22, 2021, at Barranco Funeral Home, Severna Park Maryland, followed by a private celebration of life service at the Veteran Cemetery Crownsville Chapel officiated by Pastor Earl Janssen of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Severna Park, where Marianne was a member. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Delaware-Maryland Synod, ELCA at 575 S. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Chesapeake for their generous, gentle care for Marianne.
May God bless you and keep you.
