Marian (Betty) L. Rogers, 91, died on June 30, 2021. Born, March 7, 1930, to Arthur and Marian Laughton in Washington, DC. Marian attended Roosevelt High School and Strayer Business College. She worked for DC Public School System, Davidson Chemical Company, and later Alexander Mundell & Associates / Kors, Marlar, Savage, as an Executive Secretary.

Betty/Marian cherished time with family and friends. She supported her grandchildren's music and sports endeavors, enjoyed going to the beach and traveling the world, especially cruising, with her husband and family. She was a charter member of Gloria Dei! Lutheran Church where she was active as a Sunday School teacher, Volunteer scheduler and the first Wedding coordinator. She made sure to send cards to those who needed them and was active in preparing meals for Winter Relief. As a member of the Severna Park Ladies of the Elks she baked cakes for the cake wheel and enjoyed having friends attend the Crab feasts and Bull Roasts where they ate and danced the night away. She loved playing games; initially bridge and pinochle with the Westinghouse group and bowling with the Whitehurst league. Her passion, however, was playing games with her family where she routinely beat them in Sorry or 10,000. Marian was a Girl Scout leader while living in Linthicum, MD, and District Commissioner of St Margaret's Pony Club, where her daughter, Linda, was a member. She served as secretary on the first pool board in Ulmstead Estates. She loved to cook and entertain and delighted in making all types of character cakes for each person's birthday or holiday. Her home in Ulmstead Estates was her pride and joy. She loved the beauty of the azaleas in the spring, the colorful hydrangeas in early summer and all of nature that roamed her yard. She particularly loved the cardinals and birds that visited the bird feeder. She was a friend to young and old and was never too busy to lend a helping hand or share a smile.

She joins her beloved husband, Charles H. Rogers, in heaven, 82 days after his passing in April. They were married for 71 years and inseparable. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Greene (Brent) of Arnold and Linda Pietras (Steve Dellers) of Gambrills; as well as her grandsons Andrew Greene of Arnold, Adam Greene of Austin, TX, Evan Pietras (Jenny Vince) of Chevy Chase, Jake Pietras of Annapolis and Kobe Dellers of Richmond, VA.
