Marian Clark Hunt, 87, of Severna Park, died of natural causes Dec. 30 at her home.

Mrs. Hunt was born in Monrovia, Calif., on Oct. 31, 1919. She moved around the country with her military family living in Mobile, Ala.; the Panama Canal Zone; Langley Field, Va., Lakehurst Naval Air Station, N.J., and St. Louis, Mo., where she worked for the Army Air Corps as a cartographer. She was a graduate of Western High School in Washington, D.C., and the St. Louis School of Fine Art.

She settled with her mother, the late Laura Warren and her sister, Betty Jane Clark in Washington during World War II and worked for the Army Air Corps, Mapping and Cartography Division. She met her husband, Clifton J. Hunt, now deceased.

Her interests included art, gardening, sailing, skiing, travel and the Baltimore Symphony. Being a creative and artistic individual, she made floral arrangements for the Chartwell Garden Club for special events and shows including Christmas decorations for the historic Hammond Harwood House.

She also participated in local politics as a member of the Severna Park Republican Women's Club, serving as president and board member. She also volunteered for the Hospice of the Chesapeake as an auxiliary member, fund raising and volunteering at the Chesapeake Treasures Thrift Shop. One of her favorite charitable groups was the Friends of the Anne Arundel County Trails. She held the offices of historian and was chairman of the Memorial Brick Project located in the Hatton Regester Green. She was an active member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park. She also actively supported her grandchildren, attending their athletic events.

Surviving are two children, Geoffrey L. Hunt of Arnold and Christine L. Hunt of Crownsville; and five grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway. She will be buried at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery where her mother, father, step-father and other relatives are now buried.

Donations can be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake or to the Friends of the Anne Arundel County Trails, PO Box 464, Severna Park, MD 21146. A bench will be placed in her memory at the Hatton Regester Green.
