Marian Elizabeth Garvey, known to many as Marian Goetzke, passed away March 15, 2018 at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

Marian was born to William Edward Garvey and Margaret Florence Garvey (nee Ashby) on October 15, 1926, in Baltimore, MD where she was raised. She attended Mount de Sales high school and graduated from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland where she received her bachelor's degree in Religious Studies.

Marian was an active member of St. Andrew by the Bay Parish. She was involved in many charities and volunteered regularly at "Our Daily Bread" and the "Gift of Hope," but her primary joy was being with her family and friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Garvey of La Plata, MD; her sons, Christopher Goetzke (Leslie) (Annette Lanni) and Joseph Goetzke (Jane); her grandchildren, Shannon and Taylor and her former husband, George Adam Goetzke Jr.

Marian is survived by her sons, George Goetzke (Sandy McMurtrey) of Arlington, VA; Robert Goetzke (Joanne Myers) of Annapolis, MD; John Goetzke (Ai) of Great Mills, MD; Paul Goetzke (Suzie) of Davidsonville, MD; Matthew Goetzke of Arnold, MD; Mark Goetzke (Leigh) of Annapolis, MD; her daughters, Margaret Green of Annapolis, MD; Maura Walden (Michael) of Arnold, MD; her grandchildren, Biagio, John, Shawn (AJ), Amy (Bill), Emily, Matthew (Sarah), Andrew, Adam, Ben, Anna, George, Harrison, Kathryn, Dustin, Matty, Allison, Patrick, Erin, and Brendan; and her great grandchildren, Makayla, Keegan and Eliza.

Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, March 20th at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 22nd, at 11:00 am at St. Andrew by the Bay, 701 College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD 21409. Immediately following the Mass, she will be interred at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD 21035. In lieu of flowers; family requests donations be made to St Andrew's by the Bay's sister parish to benefit the education of the children of San Francisco de Asis Parish in El Salvador.
