Marian Sue Fortner, 72, a resident of Pasadena, died on February 3, 2013, of cancer, at Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood.
She was born on July 30, 1940 in Pascagoula, MS, where she was raised, and graduated from Pascagoula High School. She also resided in St. Louis, MO; Oxnard, CA; St. Petersburg and Fort Walton Beach, FL; Pasadena, MD; Iran; and Ireland, before permanently residing in Pasadena in 1981.
Marian was a member of the Pasadena Association Women's Club and Pasadena Garden Club and she was an advocate for breast cancer awareness.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed sewing, and was known for her positive outlook and her giggling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Fortner, Jr., who died April 1, 2010.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Sean Fortner of Pasadena and James Emmitt Fortner "Jef" and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Fortner, both of Glen Burnie; one granddaughter, Jamie Fortner; and one grandson, Josh Fortner.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 2-4 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, with a Memorial Service beginning at 4:00 pm, after the visitation. Interment will be private.
