Marian Beatrice Jones Brennan

Was born on February 13, 1932 in Salisbury, Maryland to Marian Langford (Jones) and William Groscup Jones. She studied piano and learned to sew and create beautiful knitting and cross-stitch pieces. In 1950's, she studied for two years at Washington College and later transferred into Johns Hopkins Nursing program. She practiced as a Registered Nurse in Salisbury and then in Annapolis Hospital. At the end of her career, she worked in Women's Health in Pasadena and Glen Burnie, Maryland.

In 1960, Marian moved to Leesburg, VA where she worked as a teacher and then over the summer on campus as a camp nurse. It was here that she met Frank Brennan, a dashing young Red Cross Instructor at the camp, and fellow teacher at the school. They were married a year later. The happy couple moved back up to Annapolis, and then settled in Arnold, Maryland. They had four children. Marian was a very capable manager of their home, but still found time to breed and raise Norwegian Elk Hounds and German Shepherds, knit and sell baby booties, and Swim competitively at age 75, winning many awards. Over the years, she and Frank enjoyed regular visits to museums and concerts by the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. She passed away quietly on October 8, 2023, surrounded by family in Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Severna Park, MD.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Frank Brennan, four children: Sean Brennan (Holly), Brian Brennan (Doris), Susan Brennan Chisolm (Herb Chisolm), and Kevin Brennan, seven grandchildren: Sam Brennan (Ashley), Greg Brennan (Ciara), Steven Snyder (Lindsey), Andrew Brennan, Jessica Jones Hartley, Daniel Jones and Ashley Jones, and eight great-grandchildren: Griffon, Likin, Jennavecia, Brinley, Cora, Uriah, Raegan, and Brooks.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday October 14, 2023 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A.  495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday October 17, 2023 at 12:00pm at Parsons Cemetery 912 N Division St, Salisbury, MD 21801.
