Maria Pia Chambers, 78, of Odenton, MD, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at the Hospice of the Chesapeake Mandrin House from Alzheimer's. She was born on May 26, 1935, in Pisa, Italy. She joins her parents, Nello Antoni and Anna Conti, two brothers and two sisters in Heaven. She is survived by her spouse, Alfred Clay Chambers, originally from Winston Salem, North Carolina; daughter, Anna Laymance, son-in-law, Bobby Laymance, Sr., grandson, Bobby Laymance, Jr., granddaughter, Alishia Laymance, and great-granddaughter, Sophia Laymance, of Wartburg, TN; daughter, Angelica Rutherford, son-in-law, Dennis Rutherford, Jr., and grandsons, Antony Rutherford and Andrew Rutherford, of Severna Park, MD; three sisters (in Indiana, Australia, and Italy) and one brother (in Italy). She spent many years living in Germany before moving to Maryland in December 1991. She devoted her life to caring for others and animals. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or SPCA.

Friends may visit on Sunday August 11, 2013 from 4-7:00pm at the Barranco & Sons,P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday August 12, 2013 at 10:00am in the Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church 1070 Cecil Avenue Millersville, MD 21108. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
