Margaret "Margie" Ellen Schmitt, 62, a resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on January 14, 2019 at Genesis in Waugh Chapel, after a short battle with cancer.

She was born on February 4, 1956 in Baltimore and raised in Lansdowne, graduating from Lansdowne Senior High School in 1974, before settling down with her husband and moving to Glen Burnie.

Margaret was an Office Manager for a Laurel dentist's office.  She was a member of the Glen Burnie Park Swim Club for many years.

Margaret enjoyed boating, cruises, interior decorating, spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed caring for her granddaughter, Morgan.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, George "Butch" Schmitt, Jr. of Glen Burnie; her daughter, Shelley Kokalis (Darren) of Severna Park; and her grandchild, Morgan.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, January 19. 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, in Severna Park. Interment will be private.
