Margaret (Sis) Rundle departed this world for heaven on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the age of 97. Her devotion to family and firm belief in God supported her through her life.
She was born May 18, 1920 in Washington D. C. and spent most of her life in the Washington D.C. and surrounding Maryland area. She worked for the C&P Telephone Company of Maryland and was a long-time employee of the Federal government, working in various agencies including, GAO, GSA and HUD. She retired in 1978. During her career, she received numerous awards and commendations. Margaret was an active and dedicated member of her church. She had a zest for life enjoying her flowers, bowling, reading, walking, traveling but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She led a full and happy life.
Survived by her son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Judith Rundle of Severn MD. and daughter and son-in-law Katherine (Patterson) and Charles Hawes of Michigan, her sister Theresa Weir, brother Joseph Geary, her grandchildren Susan Gustafson, Thomas Rundle Jr., William Patterson, Jeffrey Patterson, Stephanie Orrico and her sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings John Geary, Frances Geary, Catherine (Geary) Wilmer, and her granddaughter Karen (Rundle) Dickerson.
A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11a in the Chapel of the Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Rd NE, Washington, DC 20017 with interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor. 4200 Harewood Road, Washington D. C. 20017, would be appreciated. Christians never say good-by just until we meet again!
