Margaret E. Rider, 83, of Pasadena, died of natural causes Dec. 15 at Oak Lodge Assisted Living Community in Pasadena.

Born Sept. 5, 1921, and reared in Baltimore, Mrs. Rider was a long-time resident of Morrell Park there and enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, jewelry-making, painting and candy making.

An avid Orioles baseball fan, she played softball in her youth.

She was married for 50 years to Walter N. Rider, who died in 1996. She was also the sister of the late Pauline Shaw and Arden A. Fields Jr.

Surviving is a nephew, Arden Fields III of Severna Park.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
