IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret J.
Lammens
April 4, 1925 – November 27, 2016
Margaret J. Lammens, 91, a longtime resident of Severna Park, MD, died of complications from pneumonia on November 27, 2016 at Hospice of the Chesapeake.
Marge, a twin, was born April 4, 1925 in Paterson, N.J. to Hilda and Patrick Golden. She served as a Navy WAVE, Pharmacist Mate 3 nd Class, during WWII. She attended Fairleigh Dickenson College and graduated with an Associate's Degree and then became a personnel manager at Quackenbush Department Store in New Jersey.
While living in Coshocton, Ohio, Marge was a member of the Coshocton Country Club as well as the Footlight Players where she acted in a number of well-received plays.
Marge was a talented artist and writer, with a sketch pad by her side to readily draw and write in a journal. An avid reader, Marge immersed herself in biographies and non-fiction talking books and enjoyed listening to the radio, especially Prairie Home Companion.
She enthusiastically learned computer skills while in her 80s and enjoyed emailing family and friends as well as Googling a variety of topics that interested her.
She loved to swim and taught synchronized swimming and produced a neighborhood show. She loved the ocean, particularly vacationing at Rehoboth Beach, DE. Marge was an enthusiastic backyard bird watcher and a marvelous homemaker.
Married to the late Robert Edward Lammens for 61 years, Marge is survived by their three daughters: Laura Lammens Daras, Lindy Lammens-Anderkin (Elliot, Sr.), Leslie Lammens-Hunt (Robert IV) all of Severna Park.
Affectionately known as "Mamère", Marge adored and cherished her three grandchildren; Elliot Anderkin Jr., Kelsey and Bradley Hunt. Marge was an aunt and great aunt to several treasured nieces and nephews.
Her longtime friends Ann Hughes-Bangert and Judy Isham of Severna Park became part of the family visiting Marge over the years and will always remain in our hearts for the special bond they formed with her.
Marge was preceded in death by one son, Robert Patrick Lammens, her twin sister, Ruth Beatty, brothers Harold and Fred, and her parents Hilda and Patrick Golden. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Chapel at the Veteran's Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville, MD. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be sent to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
