Margaret (Peggy) Elizabeth Mitchell Kitts of Arnold, MD passed away Tuesday September 6, 2011 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Peggy was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 23rd, 1942. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; her three sons, Joseph, Thomas, David; and eight grandchildren.


Peggy attended Mount Saint Joseph High School in Boston, Ma, and graduated in 1959.
She served her country as a dedicated Navy wife volunteering and working at various Naval Installations over a 27 year period. In 1987 Peg and Joe made Arnold, Maryland home. She will also be deeply missed by the many young Midshipmen she supported from the Naval Academy since moving to Arnold.

Peggy also served the State of Maryland as a Communications Supervisor, at the Statehouse in Annapolis for 17 years, retiring in 2001. During her tenure she received special recognition from the Maryland State Police for exemplary performance.
Her favorite past times were spending time with her grandchildren and getting together with her friends every Tuesday Night at the Knights of Columbus in Arnold to play BINGO.


Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Friday, September 9th from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
