Margaret Gwaltney Hood went home to be with the Lord on June 4th.
One of the few women to have graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina in the 1940's, she was an ardent community supporter and philanthropist.
She was a political candidate for the state Constitutional Convention in 1966, President of the Annapolis Hospital Auxiliary from 1969-1975, a member of the Republican Women's Club. She also was a long-time member of Chartwell Country Club and the Annapolis Yacht Club. Margaret was also a devoted member to both the Crownsville Advisory Board and the Small Area Planning Committee.
She is survived by Donald, Jr. of Severna Park and Darden and Terri Hood of Miami, FL, as well as Cory and Nicole Hood.
A Memorial Service will be held at Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146 on Friday, June 13th at 10:00 am. Flowers will be welcome.
