Margaret "Peggy" M. Eckhardt of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021. She was born January, 21, 1946 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Married in 1967 To Husband Francis "Earl" Eckhardt Jr. Mother of two sons, Jeffrey "Jeff" Eckhardt of Stevensville, MD and Scott Eckhardt of Baltimore, MD.

Peggy was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for more than 35 years working with patients young and old. Taking a brief hiatus from health care, Peggy owned a French bakery in Annapolis, an experience she always treasured. She taught phlebotomy at the local community college and volunteered her time through many local charitable organizations. A fantastic and creative cook and baker, Peggy loved to entertain friends and family.

Upon retirement, Peggy and Earl moved to Florida. After a brief residence in Key West, they settled in North Fort Myers. Soon after moving, Peggy began volunteering at the local hospital in Cape Coral, something she derived immense fulfillment from.

Peggy and Earl traveled the world after retirement. Making trips to Prague, Paris, London, Dublin, Vienna, Budapest, Berlin, St. Petersburg, Stockholm, and Copenhagen. Seeing the world was such a gift to them both later in life.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hellen McHugh. She is survived by her husband Earl; Sons Jeff and Scott; Grandchildren Charlotte, Claudia, Austin, and Kieran "KJ" as well as many friends and extended family.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday November 11, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday November 12, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church 701 College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD 21409.
