Margaret Annabelle Chellis, 99, passed away on October 22, 2023. She was the daughter of Samuel J. Jeeter and Susan C. Jeeter. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Delmas Jeeter, Edward Jeeter, Samuel "Buzz" Jeeter and sisters: Mary Barry, Stella Johnson and Mildred Watts.She was the last surviving member of her family. Ann is survived by her six children: Jo Ann Susan Chellis (Ward Taylor), Barbara Gay Haygood (Bill), Cynthia Ann Tubaya (Federico), Julia Lee Petrie, Joseph David Chellis Jr. and Andrew Scott Chellis; along with five grandchildren: Maria Chellis, Olivia Smith, Jordan Tubaya, Nathaniel Petrie and Joanna Petrie as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ann was born on February 15, 1924 in Baltimore and grew up in the community of Masonville. She married Joseph D. Chellis in 1942. They were married for 51 1/2 years until his death in 1993. Ann was a devoted mother and a wonderful homemaker. She and Joe started their family in Baltimore. In 1959 the family moved from Baltimore to Severna Park where they resided for 11 years. They then moved to Annapolis where they resided for 30 years. Ann made her final move to Ginger Cove Retirement Community in 2003 where she lived for over 20 years.

Ann was a devout Catholic and her faith was her guiding force throughout her entire life. She was actively involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal starting in the 1970's. She served her parish, St. Andrew by the Bay, as a volunteer receptionist in the parish office for over 20 years and was on different committees, the parish council and other various groups and volunteer services throughout the parish. Her volunteer efforts were recognized in 2004 when she received their most prestigious honor: the "Salt of the Earth, Light of the World" award. Ann was recognized in 2014 by the Residents Club of Ginger Cove for all of her various volunteer efforts. Her major contributions were being the prime mover of the Catholic community services. She did this by enhancing, expanding and leading many of the services. She also delivered newspapers in her building, laundered towels for the Flower Committee and altar cloths for the Catholic services and worked in the Thrift Shop. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Andrew by the Bay, Anne Arundel Medical Center and Ginger Cove Retirement Community.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday October 29, 2023 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care,P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday October 30, 2023 at 11:00am at St Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church 701 College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD 21409. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery will take place on Tuesday October 31, 2023 at 1:00pm.
