Margaret Theresa (Thielsch) Cassell died at the age of 102 on March 13, 2024 at the Rosemount Senior Living Center in Rosemount, Minnesota.

Born on October 18, 1921, in Recklinghausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, Margaret met her future husband, Robert (Bob) Charles Cassell, when he was a soldier in the U.S. Army and his barracks were across the street from the home owned by Margaret's parents.  In 1947, Margaret came to the United States and married Bob, who was then a student at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. After earning undergraduate and master's degrees, Bob began his career with the U.S. Civil Service Commission. Margaret and Bob then began a long journey that brought them to many metropolitan areas - including Washington DC, Detroit, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and New York - and during which four sons were born:  Ernest in 1949, Joseph in 1955, William in 1957, and James in 1964.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Robert in June of 2005 and by her son Ernest in September 2023. She is survived by her sons Joseph, William, and James.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 2:30pm at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery - Crownsville.
