Marcus Llewellyn Neal, Sr., 49, a resident of Annapolis, died on February 2, 2009, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.

He was born June 17, 1959 in Cumberstone, MD, and raised in Annapolis, MD. He attended Anne Arundel public schools in Annapolis, MD.

Mr. Neal was employed as a chef at various restaurants in the Annapolis area. Most recently, he worked at Davis Pub.

He enjoyed playing pool, bowling and entertaining his family. He attended the 2nd Baptist Church in Annapolis, MD.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Augustus Neal.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie Diane Neal of Annapolis, whom he married April 30, 1988; one son, Marcus L. Neal, Jr. of Annapolis; one daughter, Domminique Rochelle Wright of Williamsburg, VA; mother, Dorothy J. Jones of Annapolis, two sisters, Glenda M. Briscoe of Ft. Washington, MD and Theodora Lynn Williams of Dumfries, VA; brother, Todd R. Neal of Annapolis; and five grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, February 5 from 4-7 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, MD.
A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:30 am on Friday, February 6 at 2nd Baptist Church, 1808 Poplar Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401, with a wake service from 11:30-12:00 pm. A funeral service will begin at the church at 12:00 pm.
Interment will follow in Bestgate Memorial Park in Annapolis.
