Malcolm J. "Mac" Slebzak, 80, of Millsboro, Del., and formerly of St. Margarets, died of a heart attack May 22 at Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Slebzak was born July 5, 1923, and raised in New York City and moved to Baltimore at age 6. He lived in the St. Margarets community from 1947 to 1998 when he moved to the Longneck Village community in Millsboro.
During World War II he served in the Army. In 1986 he retired as a manufacturing engineer with Westinghouse where he was employed for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the Millsboro American Legion and past member of the Glen Burnie Moose. His interests included fishing, crabbing, oil painting, woodworking, snow skiing, golf and travel.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy F. Kulis Slebzak; one son, Gary Raymond Slebzak of Cape St. Claire; one brother, John Slebzak of Linthicum; and three grandchildren. He was the father of James Stephen Slebzak, who died in 1999, and Dennis Stanley Slebzak, who died in 1964.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
