Mabel A. Wood Barranco, 96, of Towson, formerly of Beverly Beach, died of natural causes July 25 at home.

The daughter of the late Robert E. Wood Sr. and the late Ada DeVilbiss Wood, she was born Sept. 4, 1906, in Baltimore, where she was raised and attended Strayer Business College.

On Sept. 1, 1929 she married Dr. Salvatore H. Barranco, who died Feb. 28, 1986.

Mrs. Barranco was a homemaker who enjoyed being with her family, cooking, reading and traveling.

She was a former member of the McDonogh School Patrons Club, and sponsored fundraisers for the St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing School.

She was the sister of the late Robert E Wood, Jr. and the late Marguerite Wood.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Frank T. Barranco, Sr.of Lutherville and Robert S. Barranco, Sr. of Severna Park; one daughter, Mary A. Del Rosso of Plaistow, NH; 16 grandchildren; and 38 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 A.M. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy with burial following in Loudon Park Cemetery, 3700 Wilkens Avenue.
