Lynne Marie
Zebrowski
December 18, 1950 – April 2, 2026
Lynne Marie Zebrowski died on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2026, at age 75. She was an enthusiastic Marylander and devoted parishioner of Saint John the Evangelist in Severna Park for 50 years.
Lynne was born on December 18th, 1950 in Bainbridge Island, Washington, to Charles and Mavis McIntyre. As a Navy family, they moved several times in the 1950s, and Lynne spent part of her childhood in Germany. Eventually settling in Glen Burnie, Maryland, along with her eight siblings, Lynne attended high school at Holy Trinity (later Archbishop Spalding High School, where two of her sons would also attend), and upon graduation, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Washington, DC. Just before college, Lynne met her soul mate and love of her life, Allan Francis Zebrowski. They married on February 19th, 1972, and bought a little brick townhouse in northeast Baltimore. For five years, Lynne and Al were parishioners at the Shrine of the Little Flower, before moving to Anne Arundel County. They raised four sons: Charles, Steven, Robert, and Mark.
The cornerstones of Lynne’s life were her family, her Catholic faith, and her church community. All of her boys attended Saint John the Evangelist school, where she served as a volunteer, then as an assistant librarian, before becoming the school’s library media specialist. At the same time, Lynne gave her time and gifts–especially her magnificent soprano range–to the church. She sang as a member of the adult choir, led the congregation in song as the cantor for countless services, weddings, and funerals, and also embraced the role of lector to share the Word. Lynne lived the truth of love, and let it guide her through both turmoil and times of joy.
A lifelong lover of words, Lynne enjoyed puzzles, reading, and learning. She spread her passion for books to all, including hundreds of students at St. John during her time leading the library. She even chose to return to school herself, earning her master’s degree from Western Maryland College (later McDaniel College, where one of her sons would also attend).
Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mavis McIntyre, and her son, Charles Andrew Zebrowski. She is survived by her husband, Allan Zebrowski; her sons, Steven, Robert, and Mark; her daughters-in-law, Caroline Haavik and Jana Burke; her granddaughters, Ingunn and Phoebe; her eight siblings, and more than a dozen nieces, nephews, and their children.
