Lumiko Hope Hryzan, affectionately known as" Mickie", 59, a resident of Crofton, passed away after a lengthy illness on April 19.

Mickie was a woman who loved life. She had a generous heart, loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed caring for many others as a lifelong nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, the outdoors, gardening, baking, cooking and teaching. Mickie will be remembered for her warm smile, red lips, beautiful gardens, and delicious cakes, pies, and food. Always having a passion for helping others, she will be missed by all of those she touched.


She is survived by her mother, Hatsuko Fredericks of Welsh,LA; Her daughter and son-in-law: Heather & Craig Charpiat of Odenton; daughter and son-in-law: Nicole & Jason Witt of Gambrills; two granddaughters: Lindsay and Taylor Charpiat; Her favorite cat, Sam; Grand-dogs Harley and Remi, and one grand kitty, Jacob. She is also survived by brothers Norman and John Fredericks, both of LA, Glenn Fontenot of NC and sister Jamie Fontenot of NJ.

A Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday April 28, 2012 from 1-3:00pm with a Memorial service at 2:00pm in the Barranco & Sons,P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Memorials in her name may be made to the: SPCA of Anne Arundel County P.O Box 3471 Annapolis, MD 21403.
Interment will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, MD at a later date.
