Lucille Kathryn Hummel Henault, 76, of Severna Park died October 11 at home.

Lucille was born in 1935 in Reading, PA to the late Henry Irwin Hummel and Laura Magroski Hummel. She learned to play the piano at the age of 5 and continued to play until her recent illness.

In 1952, She graduated with honors from Reading High School where she was a member of the Track, Tennis and Volleyball teams, as well as the Cheerleading squad.

She attended Albright College and was a member of the Tennis team and Cheerleading Squad. An English major, she authored the play "Trust" which was performed by the Albright College Theatre Company. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1957.

At the height of the Cold War, she was recruited by The National Security Agency. She moved to Washington, D.C. where she was trained in Russian. She became an Intelligence Research Analyst in December 1957. It was there that she met and later married Emile Joseph Henault, Jr. and subsequently moved to Maryland in 1959. She had the first of two children, Elizabeth Anne Henault (Andersen) in 1960.
Her second child, Emile Joseph Henault, III arrived in 1964.

She moved with her family to Japan in May 1967. For the next two years, she assisted members of the United States military, including those who were in Japan for rehabilitation of injuries sustained in Vietnam. Returning to Maryland in July 1969, she received an award from the National Security Agency for honorable duty in the service of the United States.

Continuing her High School and College enthusiasm, Lucille coached her daughters Cheerleading team at Holy Trinity Catholic School from 1972 to 1974. For the balance of the 70's she worked as a Realtor for a Severna Park brokerage. In 1980, she joined her husband as the office manager and accountant for what would later become The Law Offices of Henault & Sysko, Chartered.

In addition to her Husband and two children, Lucille is survived by a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Henault, a son-in-law, Mads Andersen and nine grandchildren: Robert Perotti of Pikesville, Christina Perotti of Riverdale, Michael Perotti and Stephen Perotti, both of Annapolis, William Andersen of Arnold, Gabrielle Henault, Emile Henault IV and Nicholas Henault, all of Arnold, and Alexander Chrisman of Baldwinsville, New York. Lucille is also survived by a sister, Patricia Hummel Herbein of Kutztown, PA.

She gave all of her love to us. We love her forever, Amen.

Friends are invited to the Gathering space at St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park on Thursday, October 20 at 9:30 a.m. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m.
