Edward Snyder
Retired Army Lt. Col. Edward Eugene Snyder, 77, of Severna Park, died of heart failure June 6 at North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie after a lengthy illness.
Lt. Col. Snyder was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., and lived in many areas as a member of a military family. He graduated from West Virginia University. He had resided in Severna Park since 1973.
He served for 26 years in the Army including service in Vietnam. After leaving the military, he worked for 10 years for the Department of Defense before retiring.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Clarksburg. He enjoyed travel and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Della M. Snyder, whom he married in 1949; one son, David L. Snyder of Severna Park; two daughters, Karen S. Schmuff and Sharon A. Colvin of Glen Burnie; one brother, Tom L. Snyder of Clarksburg; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
