Louis Norman Kamm was born on August 2, 1944.  He was 78 yrs. old when he passed away peacefully on September 18, 2022.  He was a graduate of Glen Burnie High, (1962) Towson University (1966) and Johns Hopkins (1976).

Mr. Kamm worked as an Anne Arundel County public-school teacher, assistant principal, and principal of three schools: Marley Elementary, Ridgeway Elementary, and Fort Smallwood Elementary.  After retiring in 1996 Lou worked as a home-hospital teacher, a student teacher supervisor for Salisbury University and a recalled substitute principal, serving in 40 schools throughout the county for 10 years.

Lou loved "the arts".  He was involved in faculty shows, sang with the Severnaders and the Retired Teachers Chorus.  Lou was an avid fan of Dolly Parton.  He had several of her signed photos.  He cherished each and every friendship.  He often quoted "No man is a failure who has friends" taken from his favorite movie "It's a Wonderful Life".

He was an active member of Severna Park United Methodist church and recently served on the planning team for Adults Lovin' Life. (ALL)

Lou loved to travel and plan trips.  He loved going to the ocean and wondered at every sunrise and sunset.  He collected lighthouses.

Mr. Kamm is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Dutch Kamm and his sister Dorothy and brother Richard.

He is survived by his devoted wife Kathie.  They were married for 47 years and his son Josh whom he loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the Severna Park United Methodist Church (Lee Ferrel Scholarship Fund), the AARSPA Scholarship Fund, or the American Diabetes Society.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 27, 2022 at 11am at Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Rd Severna Park MD 21146. A luncheon will follow the service at church. The burial will take place at 2pm at Loudon Park Cemetery, 3620 Wilkens Ave, Baltimore MD 21229.
