Louis O. Herrmann. Born March 11, 1922. Died July 10, 2013. 91 years old from Severna Park, MD. He died peacefully while taking an afternoon nap.
Survived by his son, Michael Herrmann of Middle River, MD and Bethany Beach, DE, son Bruce Herrmann in San Francisco, CA and daughter Amy Degenhard, of Severna Park. He had 5 grandchildren (2 married) and 1 great granddaughter. He was extremely proud that all three of his children are still married to their 1st spouse, and all have wonderful, happy grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Betty K Herrmann, who passed away in August, 2012.
Born in Baltimore, MD, he spent almost his entire life in Maryland. He served 3 years in the army during WWII, including participation in the D-Day invasion at Normandy Beach, before being honorably discharged as Technician 5th class. He earned his EE degree from John Hopkins, and spent most his career as a salesmen (originally with Kaiser Aluminum and later on his own) selling electrical product to major utility companies.
In his later years, he and his wife Betty spent their free time traveling internationally and living the life of happy grandparents. Lou was active in the local Republican club and enjoyed fishing and crabbing in his boat on the Severn as well as spoiling their boston terrier.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, at 10:30 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville,MD. In lieu of flowers, friends are requested to make a donation in Lou's name to the Army Emergency Relief Fund.

The AEF was established in 1947, and has an excellent record of making no interest loans and grants to army personnel with financial problems brought about by their service. As most of you know, Dad was very proud of his 3 years in the army, including his participation in D-Day at Normandy.
