Loretta Morrow Diforte, a 52-year resident of Severna Park, passed away after a brief illness. She was 92.

She was born on August 26, 1933 to Robert and Margaret (neé Koch) Morrow in Baltimore, MD.

She was a student athlete at St. Joseph’s Monestary School and Seton High School, excelling in basketball, softball and bowling.

Loretta was a homemaker, married to Carmelo “Joe” Diforte for 39 years until his death in 1995.

Loretta worked as a secretary for the Health Department of MD, often traveling to different clinics in the area. She is a retired State employee.

Loretta was known for her volunteerism, as she was a member of the Auxilary for AAMC. She worked in The Clothes Box for many years, then at the Clatanoff Pavillion. At the same time, she dedicated her time to Partners in Care at their shop in Pasadena.

Loretta loved people, especially her bridge friends. She often hosted large, 4-table bridge parties long ago.

She had a special love for her church as a member of the choir for 50 years. She loved to sing and spent many years in the entertainment group, the Go-Getters. There she would sing and dance to make others happy.

Loretta was a lifelong athlete. She was a decorated ten-pin bowler at Severna Park Lanes and a power tennis player at St. Andrew’s Swim and Tennis Club. She often played 2-3 times per day, easily beating some of the men.

She is survived by her children, Linda, David, and Anne, along with three grandchildren. Also her nephew John Crooks and his family, Carole, Jamie, Dave, and Aiden, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may visit on Thursday January 15, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park MD, 21146.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 17, 2026 at 10am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Avenue S, Millersville MD 21108. Interment will follow the Mass, in the church cemetery.
