Lois Hendsey Buckel, 78, a resident of Severna Park, died on October 24, 2009 with her loving husband, Jerry, by her side.

She was born on January 26, 1931 in Hartford, CT, where she graduated from parochial grade school and public high school. Her husband's Navy career led to residences for her that included Norfolk, VA, Charleston, SC, New London, CT and Secaucus, NJ.

Mrs. Buckel was employed for 15 years in real estate, winning awards for her achievements in this field while employed with Nelson Real Estate and Chris Coile Real Estate Co.

Mrs. Buckel was a very skilled Master Doll Crafter and seamstress and she enjoyed making vintage porcelain dolls and their clothing. She also sewed beautiful clothing for her daughters and granddaughters over decades.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerome Buckel, of Severna Park, MD; two daughters, Deborah Wells of Millersville, MD and Kathleen Hiller of Centreville, MD; two granddaughters, Lisa Brooks of Philadelphia, PA and Christina Savillo of Catonsville, MD; a great grandson, Asher Kai Savillo; and two brothers, Jack Hendsey of Rumney, NH and Buck Hendsey of Vero Beach, FL.

Services and internment will be private. Arrangements are being made by Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home.
