Lloyd Julius Johnson, 89, of Annapolis, died of complications from diabetes on Oct. 9 at Spa Creek Center, Genesis ElderCare Network.

Mr. Johnson was born Oct. 4, 1916, and reared in Baltimore. He served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

He worked at Locke Insulator Co.

Mr. Johnson was an active member of Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church in Baltimore and several veterans' organizations. His interests included playing tennis. He was captain of the tennis team at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and was ranked in the men's seniors.

He was the husband of the late Frances Eileen Morris Johnson. Surviving are one brother, Howard P. Johnson of Severna Park, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church, 10 E. Mount Vernon Place, Baltimore. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie.
