Linda was born in Brooklyn, NY on Feb. 21, 1949 to the late Joseph and Marie (Monte) Mackenzie. She received a BA and MA in English from Long Island University. Before coming to MD, she taught junior high school language arts. Students always said that she was the easiest teacher to talk to. So many of then did confide in her. When she came to MD in 1977 with her husband and son, she continued teaching in St. Rose of Lima in Brooklyn, MD. The students there said the same things about her.
Later she became very interested in care to the elderly. In 1998-2001, she was the coordinator of the Senior Plus program in the South County Senior Citizen Center of Anne Arundel County. Linda was always a very people oriented person.
She enjoyed art – she loved painting – and she was interested in rubber stamping.
Linda became very depressed after her only son. Justin, was killed in Jan. 2005. Her health deteriorated severely after that. She died of a heart attack on Sat., Nov. 21, 2009.
Surviving her are her husband, Prof. Anthony M. Gaglione of Arnold, MD and two brothers-in-law, Stanley Gaglione of Boca Raton, FL, and J. Matthew Gaglione of Arlington, VA.
There will be a wake at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 from 4:30 pm -6:00 pm and 7:00 pm -8:00 pm and a funeral mass the following day at St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park, MD at 10:00 AM.
