Linda Grispin Bennett (Wells), loving mother and wife, mentor, successful business woman and ever-optimistic fighter, passed away Friday, July 23, after her long standing battle with breast cancer. While this is a very sad time to have lost such an amazing woman, her long-fought battle gave those who loved her many more days, weeks, months and even years than the medical community ever estimated. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, Lin took it on, beat it and lived symptom free until it metastasized to the brain in 2007.

Lin was born on May 31, 1955 in Donora, PA, and grew up in Levittown, PA, before heading to the University of Delaware to pursue her degree in Sociology. It was not long after her graduation that she found her entrepreneurial spirit. She founded multiple businesses and worked tirelessly in the pursuit of excellence across multiple industries, most recently as Managing Director at Harte-Hanks in Baltimore and Jacksonville from 2001 to 2008. She was well respected among her peers, employees and clients, many of whom she counted as friends up until these last days. Nothing gave Lin more satisfaction than her sons. Justin and Patrick – her "boys," as she called them, even at 30 and 28 – were her world. She was so proud that they grew from adorable babies, to feisty kids, to determined teenagers and then successful men. Lin loved telling everyone about her doctor and her businessman. Many times physicians told Lin that she had a certain number of months or years to live. She never let that limit her. Lin and husband Rob were two kindred spirits, giving balance to one another's lives. They spent every day loving life and each other until her last day. Lin lived as hard as she could. She loved as much and as many people as she could. Lin lived to see both of her sons get married, and see her first granddaughter turn 2 years old. She was able to hear the news of her second granddaughter's birth, Avelin Joy, born July 22. She showed the world that there is no medicine more powerful than the human mind. Lin's optimism and positive approach in business, in family and in her hard-fought battles throughout the years inspired many. It is what we remember today.
Lin is survived by her mother, Frances Grispin; her husband, Robert Bennett; her son, Justin Wells and his wife, Nicole, and granddaughter, Alexandra; her son, Patrick Wells and his wife, Katrina, and granddaughter, Avelin; and her daughter, Kelsey Bennett.
