Lillian M. LaPorte, a 57-year resident of Severna Park, lived her last 4 years on Kent Island with Bruce and Courtney.
Lillian died from natural causes on January 21, 2024. She was born on March 30, 1927, in Dothan, AL. She graduated from Dothan High School, and Judson College with a BS degree in Chemistry. She was married to the late Robert J. LaPorte for 39 years. She is survived by her son, Bruce (Courtney) Chambliss of Stevensville and daughter Eleanor Martin (Marty) Chambliss of Annapolis, MD, Bobs daughters Linda LaPorte Duvall and Virginia LaPorte Watson (Mike) of North Carolina; 7 grandchildren, Bruce Jr. (Meg) Chambliss, William Chambliss, Benjamin (Leah) Chambliss, Bradley (Kelly Martyn) Chambliss, Brendan Chambliss, Scotty V (Michelle Karadis) Slocum, Robert (Shannon) Duvall and 3 great grandchildren, Scott VI Slocum, Liliana Duvall & Winter Grace Chambliss and a multitude of adopted grandchildren.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Willie Mae McConnico (Bill) and Eleanor Logan Martin Jordan (Bernard), 2 brothers, James F. Martin (Marge), Harry (Bubba) Kennedy Martin, Bobs daughter Marie LaPorte Tuthill, and granddaughter Christine Marie Vitello.
Aside from her love of family and friends Lillian enjoyed traveling, camping, biking, walking, music, playing recorder, piano, handbells at the church and singing in the choir. She loved crab feasts and New Years Eve with her friends. Digging her toes in the sand and sitting by the pool were a favorite way to relax. She looked forward to her Friday bridge games with her BFFs.
Family and friends may visit from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Friday January 26, 2024 at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care,P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park MD 21146.
Her funeral service will be held at 6:00pm Saturday January 27, 2024 at St. Martins in the Field Episcopal church. The scattering of ashes will occur immediately following the service at the St. Martins Memorial Garden. See link below to view the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Anne Arundel Community College Foundation, 101 College Parkway, Arnold, Maryland 21012.
