Lillian Vivian Ellis, 71, of Annapolis, died Nov. 2 at her home after a brief illness with cancer.

The daughter of the late Virginia and Wesley Doxzon, Mrs. Ellis was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Baltimore. A homemaker, she was a fan of the Baltimore Ravens and a member of Ravens Roost No. 333. She also was a member of the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 175 in Severna Park.

Surviving are her husband, John T. Ellis; one daughter, Anita L. Merson of Annapolis; three sisters, Mary Gillis of Sykesville and Hallie Dorsey and Grace Heilman of Lansdowne; and two grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Wesley M. Doxzon and Ginny Landon.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5829 Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401, or the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1400, New York, NY 10122.
