Leroy Hauenstein, 95, a resident of Baltimore for the past 30 years, died on May 27, 2008, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, of natural causes.
Mr. Hauenstein was born on April 15, 1913 in Baltimore, where he was raised, and has lived in Baltimore and Towson.
He graduated in 1931 from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute.
He worked for the US Postal Service for 26 years and retired in 1973. He worked in the Govans and Waverly Stations.
Mr. Hauenstein was a WWII veteran and served in the army from 1943-1946.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 183 in Parkville; National Association of Letter Carriers-Oriole Branch 176; Parents with out Partners-Towson Chapter; and past member of Towson Rebels.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Hauenstein and was survived by his daughter, Donna Bradshaw of Severna Park, MD.
Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home.
