Leonard Burton III, 83, of Arnold, died Jan. 20 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born Nov. 4, 1922, in Pasadena, Mr. Burton also lived in Glen Burnie for 16 years and Linthicum for 17 years.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and Purple Heart.
Before retiring in 1989, he worked for Nevamar Decorative Services as vice president of manufacturing.
His interests included gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Burton; one son, Leonard Burton IV of Bowie; two daughters, Kathleen Holland and Jeanne Harrison, both of Severna Park; one sister, Leslie Kowalewski of Glen Burnie; two brothers, Bruce Burton of Glen Burnie and John Burton of Severn; and four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joseph Burton.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church, 1281 Green Holly Drive. Burial will follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
