Odachowski
December 26, 1928 – September 2, 2007
Leon Odachowski, 78, of Cape St. Claire, died of heart failure Sept. 2 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Odachowski was born Dec. 26, 1928, in Baltimore and had lived in Cape St. Claire for 51 years. He worked as a printer in the Government Printing Office, from which he is retired. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
His hobbies were fishing and gardening. He was particularly interested in growing banana plants. He was a founding member of the group, Retired Old Men Eating Out.
Survivors include one daughter, Laurie Ann Odachowski Lester of Annapolis; one son, Stephen Odachowski of Millersville; two sisters, Regina Gregorek of Baltimore and Sister Mary Esther of Buffalo, N.Y.; one brother, Melvin Odachowski of Ocean City; and three grandchildren.
He was married in 1955 to Geraldine Duvall Odachowski, who died in 2001. He was the brother of the late Delores Wisneski, Matilda Tybulski and Florian, Walter, Richard and Edward Odachowski.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway near Cape St. Claire.
