Leon H. Edwards, a 59-year resident of Arnold, Maryland, passed away after months of declining health on Sunday May 18, 2025.

Leon was born on February 2, 1933, in Kenly, North Carolina. He was the 3rd  and only boy of seven children. There are many stories of how he used to tease and play pranks on his sisters. As a youngster Leon worked hard on the family farm and then once of age he worked for the railroads, then US Gypsum as a foreman. At the latter part of his career, he found his calling as a draftsman designing churches throughout Maryland and the surrounding states.

In 1962 he met the love of his life Grace Espey, and they were married for 63 years. They have 2 children, a daughter Rebecca, and a son Ray. He was a long-time member of College Parkway Baptist Church.

Leon loved to fish and was proud of his work in his yard. He was noted for being strong-willed and determined and would conquer any task he started.

He loved getting together with his family especially if it included a fish fry. Leon was blessed with 3 grandchildren Jake Edwards, Tina Provine and Jim Provine, all of whom he was extremely proud of and loved dearly.

Leon is survived by his son Ray Edwards (Amy) and daughter Rebecca Provine (Don) along with three sisters Louise Forehand, Bernice Sullivan, and Carolyn Jewell. He is predeceased by his wife Grace, parents Leon Edwards and Flossie Woodall Edwards, sisters Juanita Aycock, Nancy Baker, and Bea Whitehurst.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday May 31, 2025 from 10:00am-11:00am with a service to follow at 11:00am at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care,P.A. 495 Ritchie hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment Lakemont Cemetery.
