Services for Marine Lance Cpl. Eric W. Herzberg, 20, of Severna Park, who died Oct. 21 in the Iraqi War in Anbar Province, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 801 Stevenson Road, Severn.  A Reception will follow at the Elks Lodge 878 Stevenson Rd.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.

Family and Friends will meet at the Arlington National Cemetery Administration Building on Tuesday at 12:30pm for Military Honors and Interment Service.

Born June 7, 1986, and reared in Olympia, Wash., Lance Cpl. Herzberg previously lived in Greenville, S.C., Nova Scotia and Kitchner, Ontario, before moving to Severna Park in 2000 and graduating in 2005 from Severna Park High School.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps and graduated from boot camp on Oct. 28, 2005. He attended infantry school and deployed to Iraq on July 14 with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Kilo Company, Infantry Unit 73105. He was a squad automatic weapon gunner.

Lance Cpl. Herzberg was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and the Severn River Rugby Club. He formerly worked at the Big Vanilla Athletic Club in Arnold and enjoyed its rock wall, athletics and physical fitness, playing computer games and Irish and patriotic country music. He loved his country and the Catholic faith, his family said.

Surviving are his parents, Regina E. "Gina" Barnhurst of Severna Park and Eric F. Herzberg of Laurel; one sister, Katie M. Herzberg, and one brother, Matthew F. Herzberg, both of Severna Park; and his grandparents, Bernadette and William Barnhurst of Wallingford, Pa., Frederick Herzberg of Edmunds, Wash., and Dorothy Herzberg of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.
