Lawrence Wiseman

Lawrence J. Wiseman, 80, of Arnold, died of cancer March 5 at home after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Wiseman was born April 6, 1924, and reared in Arnold. He served in the Army during World War II and earned a Purple Heart along with various other medals.

During his career, he worked as a carpenter for many area contractors.

Among his interests were gardening, crabbing and fishing.

He was the brother of the late Frederick A. and George H. Wiseman.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie Boyko Wiseman; three sons, David A. Wiseman of Edgewater, Joseph T. Wiseman of Arlington, Texas, and James D. Wiseman of Arnold; one sister, Helen W. Saia of Arnold; two brothers, William M. Wiseman of Arnold and John H. Wiseman of Severna Park; and two granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Burial will follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park at 7250 Washington Blvd. in Elkridge.
