IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lavonne Marie
Doucette
August 17, 1979 – August 4, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of LaVonne Marie Doucette on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the age of 44. She passed away unexpectedly, but naturally in her sleep after complications from an accidental fall this past April. She left us far too soon, leaving a space in our hearts that can never be replaced.
LaVonne was born on August 17, 1979 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Mary Jane Davis. From an early age, she showed a passion for reading, learning, legos, and of course sharks. These passions continued to flourish throughout her life.
She attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida majoring in Marine Biology. While attending Eckerd she was also involved with extracurricular activities including being one of the founding mothers of the women's rugby team, the Eckerd Sirens. LaVonne moved back to Maryland after her junior year at Eckerd to pursue a degree in Medicine instead of Marine Biology. A short time later she changed her mind again and finally settled on Psychology which she earned her bachelor's degree in from UMGC.
Despite her young age, LaVonne lived a life full of love. Family, friends, and fur babies meant everything to her. LaVonne had a bright spirit that touched the lives of everyone who knew her, leaving an indelible mark. Her professional career, like her college experiences, spanned a myriad of fields including insurance sales, social work, and first responder training. An innate need to help young people achieve their dreams ultimately prevailed and she pursued the path of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring. LaVonne brought unconditional love, immense strength, laughter, and of course sarcasm to her family, friends, mentees, and students. She will forever be remembered for her pure heart and extensive intelligence that she passed on to everyone she met who now pay forward this information on a daily basis.
LaVonne is survived by her wife of 16 years, Melanie Doucette; her mother Mary Jane Davis; her brothers Bryan Davis (Natasha), and Willam Rineholt; her aunts Deborah Dorr (David) and Elizabeth Davis; her cousins Nicholas Dorr (Nancy) and Robert Davis III; her nephew William Rineholt Jr.; and her niece Rylie Mae Rineholt. Also preceding her in death was her grandfather Robert Davis, grandmother LaVonne Davis, uncle Robert Davis Jr., her daughter Mary, and son Joshua.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the William S. Rineholt Jr. Educational Savings Fund. LaVonne's connection with Will Jr. was immediate and infinite. She was his Bon Bon and he was her boy.
Donations can either be submitted through the Venmo Account: @Melanie-Doucette-1 or by check made out to Melanie Doucette and mailed to 8117 Evening Star Dr. , Unit 133, Pasadena, MD 21122. If using the Venmo option please put "William S. Rineholt Jr. Educational Savings Fund" in the box that says: What is this for?
