March 17, 1922 – June 8, 2009
Eileen was born on March 17, 1922, in Baltimore, MD, where she was raised and was married in 1941. She moved from their Wilson Point Shore Home in 1992 after her husband's passing and came to the Berrywood Community of Severna Park, MD. In 2005, Mema moved to Annapolis, MD.
Mrs. Stecker was a member of the Red Hat Society, Just Friends of Watergate, and the Lunch Bunch of Annapolis.
Her passions for life included traveling, sailing, cruising, casinos, and Jimmy Buffet. She also loved spending time with her family and meeting & greeting people at the Annapolis city dock.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, George Stecker, who died in 1992 and her late brother, William D. McGinley, IV, who died in 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Lyn Stecker Kautz of Bel Air, MD and Gale Stecker Soroka of Annapolis, MD (formerly of Severna Park); five grandchildren, Jill and Ryan Kautz and Bradley, Heather, and Todd Soroka; and one great grandson, Everett Kautz.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, June 11 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 12 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Dulaney Valley Cemetery in Timonium, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401 or to the Lutheran Mission, 601 Hammonds Lane, Baltimore, MD 21225.
