Laura Sue Mahaffey (nee Meyer) of Cape St. Claire in Annapolis, passed suddenly on December 20, 2022 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Laura was born on July 24, 1961 in DeKalb, Illinois to her parents James August Meyer and Dora Sue Strope Meyer.  She moved to Maryland in 1971.  Laura married her husband Eric D. Mahaffey on June 27, 1987.

Laura loved spending time with her family.  She was a homemaker and home schooled her children.  Laura also owned and operated Annapolis Caramel Company.  She enjoyed trips to the beach and researching and trying new recipes. Laura was an active member of Anchor Baptist Church in Millersville.

Laura is survived by her husband Eric D. Mahaffey, her children, Alex Mahaffey, Emily Mahaffey and Ben Mahaffey, sister Beth Sherwin (Donald) or Bolingbrook, IL, and brother Jonathan Meyer (Gwen) of Lothian, MD.  She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. on Tuesday, December 27 ^th from 2-4 and 6-8pm.  Funeral Services will be held at Anchor Baptist Church,  on Wednesday, December 28 ^th at 11am.

Interment will be private at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD
