Larry Ludlum, 70, peacefully went home to heaven with Jesus on July 24, surrounded by his family at home.

After a long battle with health, he fought the fight until the very end, with Paula, Jacob, Teddy, Carter, Ellen, and family by his side.  His race now has been won with no more suffering on this earth, walking through Heaven's pearly gates seeing Jesus and his loved ones. His body has been made whole.

Larry was born on March 14, 1954, to James Benjamin Ludlum and Audrey Centonze in Whiteville, North Carolina. He has lived and been a resident of Pasadena, MD for 38 years.  Larry worked at Millenium Chemicals as an Operator for 32 years, where he retired. He was a member of Landmark International Pentecostal Church of Christ in Millersville, Maryland.

Larry and Paula had been married for 33 years, of which they had one son, Jacob Benjamin.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and a great friend to all.  He was loved by many.  Larry had such a loving and kind heart of gold.  He was always fun to be around and was a great storyteller. Larry loved watching Nascar and went to many races in Martinsville, Virginia, with Paula and his brother, Johnny. His favorite sport was football. He loved the Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed game days with his nephew, Josh Everly, who would always stop and get him his favorite foods and Josh would come and spend the day with him, watching football and eating all day long. They both were glued to the television. Josh was like a son to him and he always looked forward to him coming on the weekends to spend time with him. He loved you Josh…. Larry loved the Andy Griffith show, and loved watching Hallmark Christmas movies with Paula. He loved Anne Arundel Seafood; getting steamed crabs and clams. Larry loved taking Paula to eat seafood, and his brother Johnny too. He spent a lot of time there with Johnny as well.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Paula Hoke-Ludlum; son, Jacob Ludlum; brothers, Johnny Ludlum (Debbie), and James Ludlum and Leo Dooling; Mother in-law and Father in-law, Patricia & Alvin Hoke; Sister in-law, Ellen Hoke-Everly (James); and Sister in-laws, Kathy Powell & Sheila Zeiters Elting. Two very special Aunts; Shirley Jacobs of Nakina, and Phyllis Tyree of Glen Burnie, MD. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews. Larry had several nieces and nephews that were coming to help with his care. Amanda Everly Arant (Brandon) and Patricia Smith (Travis). These girls were there day and night for their Uncle Larry. He had them wrapped around his finger, he loved all of their attention. He was also sung to daily by his girls, the great nieces: Jayleena Smith, Graycie Smith, and Emersyn Smith. These girls kept him on his toes, and he loved every minute of it, and they loved him. We were also blessed in our home with Teddy Ludlum, Carter Ludlum, and Troy Parker. We adopted these young boys and welcomed them to our family. Larry loved them like his own. Jacob, Josh, Teddy, Carter, and Troy also helped care for Larry. Ellen Hoke-Everly, as well as Ms. Pink and Mr. Alvin were also always lending a helping hand as well. Ellen came and stayed the last several weeks of Larry's life to be there for love and support of our family. With all of our family helping together, we were able to keep Larry at home where he loved to be.

Larry also had a special young man that was like a brother to him. They met when they were in school and grew up together, Joe Smith. They were always there for each other. They were still brothers till the end. A special friend from Millennium Chemicals, Bill Burgess. Larry and Bill were friends for years. They worked at Millenium Chemicals for 32 years. Always getting into trouble together...they had some stories to tell. Bill would keep an eye on him at the hospital and let Paula know what was going on, as he was the head of Security. Jim Thomas was a special Brother in Christ to Larry. He called Larry, encouraged him, and prayed for him over the phone. Told him never give up on God, he can do all things. Amen.

Larry is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, James B. Ludlum and Audrey Centonze Ludlum Robinson; Sister, Kathy Ludlum Brown; Brother, Larry Dooling; and Sister in-law, Debbie Ludlum; and special Uncle, Joe Jacobs.

Larry will be truly missed by all who loved him. Our hearts will always have a place for him.  We did not have to say goodbye, only "we will see you when we get there, Larry!" . Until we meet again.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 24, 2024, at Landmark International Pentecostal Church of Christ, 8311 Jumpers Hole Road, Millersville, Maryland, 21108. Family and friends are welcome at 10:00AM, service will start at 11:00AM. Interment is Private.
