Larry Fogel departed this earth October 11, 2016. He was predeceased by his wife Louise of 44 years.  He leaves behind two daughters, Jenifer and Holly to cherish his memory.  Larry was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 8, 1934, and joined the U.S. Navy at age 17.  He served aboard the USS Pocono Ship.  He was reactivated for the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.  Larry was an artist and his creativity brought him to the Washington Post.  Employed in the News Art Dept., Larry retired as a graphic artist and cartographer.  Larry's lifelong passion was the water and fishing.  Affectionately known as Captain Larry, he awarded many children the honor of 1 ^st Mate.
