Kimberly Lynn Alfini, 61, passed away suddenly on July 28th, 2021. Kim was born on June 28, 1960, to her parents Andrew and Charlotte Kozicki of Chicago Illinois. There Kim attended John F. Kennedy High School where she met her husband Richard (Rick) Alfini. Kim graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Computer Science and went on to receive her Master's in Business Administration at the College of Notre Dame in San Mateo California. Kim worked for many years as a computer programmer and recently as a retail merchandiser.
A resident of Severna Park since 1996, Kim was a loving and supportive mother who was a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter's Troop 1105 and the number one fan in the stands when watching her son's Green Hornets baseball games. Kim enjoyed traveling, adventurous cuisine, and sampling wine from around the world. She was an avid online gamer and could skillfully operate three iPads and a phone simultaneously to ensure her "guild" were victorious.
Kim is preceded in death by her father Andrew and brother Gary. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Rick, her son Matthew (Matt) of Severna Park, her daughter Michelle Alfini of Cincinnati Ohio, her mother Charlotte, brothers Perry (sister-in-law Judy), Kerry, and Gregory Kozicki all of the Chicago area.
Friends and family may visit on Thursday August 5, 2021 from 2:00pm-4:00pm & 6:00pm-8:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00am on Friday August 6, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church 689 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be private.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Chicago at St. Daniel the Prophet, 5300 S. Natoma Ave. Chicago IL, 60638 on Thursday August 12th at 10:00 am. A reception (TBD) will follow this mass.
