Kevin McAndrew, 64, passed away suddenly at his home in Arnold, MD, on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Although a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for his family and friends.

Kevin was beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and spectacular Grandpa to his 4 grandsons. With his unsuspecting humor and unflappable personality, he was the anchor of his family. He never missed a chance to spend time with his family and live life to the fullest. You could always find him at a sporting event, school performance, swimming in the pool, making snowmen, building new projects with his sidekicks or showing off pictures of his grandsons. From trips to local orchards to pick fruits and play games to beach vacations, Kevin was there as long as his boys were.

As a skilled carpenter, Kevin never missed an opportunity to help his family and friends create their dream spaces. Any time spent with his best friends, Eddie and Yvonne Lewis of Arnold, made it to the top of his favorites as well.

Kevin was the oldest of 9 children, born on September 9, 1959 to Harry and Kay McAndrew.

He is survived by his wife, Diane McAndrew of Arnold, daughters, Heather Johnson (Mike Brzuchalski), Jamie Sutphin (Josh), Nikki Prince (Nick), and 4 grandsons, Joshua, Brantley, Logan, and Knox Sutphin, and two bonus grandchildren Bentley and Paisley. Kevin is also survived by his mother, Kay McAndrew, and his brothers and sisters, Keith McAndrew (Terri L.), Patrick McAndrew (Dixie), Michael McAndrew (Ann), Jeff McAndrew (Laura) , David McAndrew (Tina), Terri McAndrew (Chris Wojcieszek), Karl McAndrew (Aimee), Sean McAndrew (Vicki) and many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Harry McAndrew.

Kevin found the most joy in life by spending time with his grandkids. Because of this, we ask that in lieu of flowers, you please consider making a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Anne Arundel County, the Teddys Place  NICU at Luminis Health in Annapolis, MD or Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C.  You may also honor him by donating to your local elementary school's unpaid lunch accounts or sponsoring a registration fee with a local sports organization.

Family and friends may visit to celebrate Kevin's life on Thursday July 18th from 4-7pm at Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park MD 21146.
