A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, for Kevin George Durm, 16, of Arnold, who died Aug. 21 at the Shock- Trauma Center of University Hospital in Baltimore of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Ritchie Highway in Severna Park on Aug. 20.
Born March 20, 1989, in Annapolis, and reared in Arnold, Mr. Durm graduated from St. John the Evangelist Elementary School and was enrolled as a junior at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, where he played trumpet in the school band and was to be part of the wind ensemble this coming year..
An avid Maryland Terrapins basketball fan, he enjoyed playing shooting guard on his junior varsity high school team and at home. His other interests included crabbing, playing video games, water tubing and listening to both rap and rhythm and blues music.
During the summer, he worked at the Ruth Parker Eason School in Millersville as a camp counselor and was an altar server at his church,
Surviving are his parents, George L. and Eileen A. Durm of Arnold; one brother, Brian G. Durm of the home; one sister, Jennifer L. Durm of the home; and his grandparents, John Williams of Severna Park, Lyn Williams of Arnold and Mary Durm of Milford, Del.
Public visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Church, with the family receiving visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will follow services.
