Kenneth D. Sampson, 68, died Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena following a long illness. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Lola; his daughter, Jennifer; his stepson, Andrew Gardner III; his stepdaughter, Sharon Gardner; grandchildren Gwen and Chloe; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his step-grandson, Andrew Gardner IV.
Ken was born in Maryland to parents Charles "Chick" and Mary Sigrid Sampson. Raised near Hyattsville, he was a proud DeMatha Catholic High School graduate and an even prouder member of the Steeler Nation. He loved good films and Elvis Presley music. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.
A Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday August 20, 2016 from 2-4:00pm at the Barranco & Sons,P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, to whom we are deeply grateful for their compassionate care, at 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122. Donations will also be gratefully accepted via DefeatGBM.org for glioblastoma multiform (GBM) research.
