Kenneth Edward Nichols was born December 18, 1945 in Myersville Maryland to William McKinley Nichols and Norma Irene Schroyer. He died on 10 May 2023 at the age of 77 as the result of complications related to a major stroke in conjunction with kidney failure and pneumonia.

Kenneth was a long-term employee of the Anne Arundel County School System (AACPS). He was a teacher at Northeast High School, Principal at Arundel High School and Principal at Annapolis High School. He worked in the AACPS central office as the Director of Instruction and as Deputy Superintendent. He also was employed by the Maryland State Department of Education as a resource specialist. Kenneth was a member of the United Methodist Church where he was in the choir, served as Administrative Board Chair and was on the Board of Trustees. He was active in the Free State Corvette Club.

Kenneth was active in the Maryland State Principals Association where he served as secretary and President. He was selected as Secondary Principal of the Year for the State Maryland in 1988.

Kenneth is survived by his sister Nancy Watson of Williamsport, MD, his two sons, Daniel Nichols of Haymarket, VA, and Ronald Nichols of Pasadena MD, and two grandchildren, Zoey and Evan.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kenneth's life on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm at the Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.

A graveside service for Kenneth will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 12pm in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, 603 Main Street, Myersville, MD 21773.
