Kenneth O. Hurst, Sr., 86, a resident of Annapolis, passed away on May 23, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.
He was born on April 12, 1930 in Baltimore, MD, where he was raised, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-54.
Kenneth was the Co-Owner of Meyer Seed Company, until his retirement in 1999.
He enjoyed hockey, football, lacrosse, baseball, and landscaping.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma Hurst; his children, Kenneth O. Hurst, Jr. (Suzan) of Millersville and Diane Hurst McNamara of Manassas, VA; one brother, Harry W. Hurst of Millersville; and three grandchildren, Caitlin Hurst, Kenneth "Bret" Hurst III, and Erin Ashley McNamara.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park, with a Memorial Service to begin at 12 noon, after the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2:30 pm in Crownsville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made out to Shriners Children's Hospital http://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/en/donate or to Hospice of Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway Pasadena, MD 21122.
